Auckland Airport is underway with its biggest redevelopment since the airport opened in 1966. We’re moving forward with a brand-new domestic terminal to be fully integrated into the international terminal.
We were ready to go three years ago, but we had to put plans to replace the ageing domestic terminal on hold following the outbreak of COVID.
Set to open between 2028 and 2029, the new integrated terminal will house domestic and international travel under the same roof for the first time since 1977, via an expansion at the eastern end of the existing international terminal building.
Here are few highlights about the project:
Sustainability is also our top priority. Our investment will ensure New Zealand’s main gateway is resilient and sustainable, particularly in the face of increasingly severe weather events due to climate change. It will also support airline climate change ambitions, enabling aircraft to power up at the gate.
Over the coming months and years, you’re going to see a lot more work happening around the airport as we progress development for the new integrated terminal. We’re committed to keeping the airport running smoothly during this time.
Come with us on our journey. A journey that reimagines the travel experience from the moment your feet step through the doors to the second they leave the ground. Creating an airport for everyone to enjoy and be proud of.
