Filming request form

Auckland Airport welcomes production companies and content creators to request use of the airport as a location for filming and photography. However, in order to maintain a safe and secure environment for all our customers, we ask that all interested parties submit their requests for approval at least 10 working days prior to their scheduled activity. Once we receive your request, one of our team will be in touch to talk you through the approval process and collect any further information we may need.

Commercial filming or photography agreement

Any production company wanting to film/photograph for commercial purposes at Auckland Airport must sign an agreement with Auckland Airport. This must carry full public liability insurance of $1 million for shooting before security and $20 million for after security.

Crew information is to be provided at least one week in advance of filming. All crew and cast will need to carry photo ID (driver's licence or passport) when filming.

Details for crew members (particularly for filming airside or after security), include:

• Full name
• Date of birth
• Home address
• Contact phone number
• Driver's licence or passport number

Commercial Filming and Photography Charges

A fee is charged in advance for commercial filming and photography activity undertaken at Auckland Airport and the greater airport precinct. The full amount of the fee will be confirmed by Auckland Airport after an application is received and approved, but before the activity commences. No filming or photography will be permitted until the applicable fee is paid and Auckland Airport’s location agreement is signed by the client, unless prior arrangements have been made with Auckland Airport. Fees are as follows:

• Fees will apply to all time on site, including set-up, bump-in/out etc,
• Depending on the location, timing and duration of the activity, an additional fee may also be imposed to cover any additional required deployment of security, safety or operational personnel.
• Should specific Auckland Airport personnel or services be required to undertake the activity, a further fee may be levied.
• Out-of-hours filming incurs an extra fee of $500.00.
• Special fees may also be applicable to major commercial filming shoots and will be negotiated by Auckland Airport and the client
• Fees are not charged for airline partners, commercial partners and tenants filming for internal, PR or advertising purposes. Please note that these requests still require the same application and approvals process.
• Please note, these charges only cover Auckland Airport administrative and operational costs; there may also be Aviation Security Service or other agency charges which apply depending on the location of the activity.
• Auckland Airport also reserves the right to waive fees at any time at its sole discretion.

Crew Information Required for Filming/Photography

All cast and crew working at the Airport must provide full information at least one week in advance of approved filming.

All crew and cast must carry photo ID (driver's licence or passport) when filming on Auckland Airport property and present it if requested by an Auckland Airport official.

Permission must be sought a minimum of 10 working days prior to shoot date for a smaller production of under a day.

Longer or more complex productions will require 3 - 4 weeks’ notice.
