Airport VIP lounges

Relax in one of the airport’s VIP lounges at the international terminal available for travellers. Please contact the airline you are travelling with to find out if you are able to use a VIP lounge and which lounge you will be enjoying, and view our airport maps to see how to get there!

    Arrival pick up service

    Why lug your shopping around with you on your trip, when you can safely leave it with us and conveniently pick it up when you get back to New Zealand?

    On your departure, take your time to find the tax and duty free items you want from participating retailers. When you go to buy them you can choose to leave your shopping for pick up on arrival back into Auckland Airport - it could not be easier!

    On your return simply pick up your products when you get off the plane at the collection counters of the duty free stores.

    All you need to do is:

    1. Ask the helpful retail staff if you can use our free pick up on arrival service.
    2. Keep your receipt.
    3. Your purchases will be waiting for you at the collection counters of the duty free store in international arrivals.

      Baggage services

      Charging stations

      Power outlets and usb charging outlets to charge mobile phones are available at select locations. Please ask an airport information helpdesk for directions.

        Emergency services

        For all other emergencies at the airport dial 98777 on any airport phone (except the Spark telephones) in the terminals.

          Family facilities

          For those travelling with babies or small children, view our family facilities.

          Nursery rooms, with cots and change tables, are there for all travellers to use free of charge.

          Use our airport maps to locate the nursery rooms.

          There are also change tables in the female toilets throughout the international and domestic terminals.

            The Collection Point

            The Collection Point is the pick-up point for duty and tax-free goods purchased from participating stores off-airport throughout New Zealand that offer a tax and duty-free sales service.

              Terminal hours

              The international terminal is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However due to the nature of the airline schedules some parts of the terminal only operate as per the times below:

              • Departures: 4:30am to 1:30am
              • Transit: 2.00am to 2.30am and again from 4.00am to 11.00pm
              • Arrivals 24/7
              • Bulk delivery facility 4.00am to midnight

              The shops, situated inside the terminal, are open for all incoming and outgoing flights. For specific hours of trade, visit our Shopping page.

              The domestic terminal is open from 4:30am to 11pm, 7 days a week.

                Internet access - Wi-Fi

                Wireless hotspots in the international terminals keep our passengers connected. Our wireless network easily allows you to email, surf the net or access your company's intranet using your handheld device or laptop computers. Find out more.

                  Information points

                  Our airport hospitality ambassadors, otherwise known as 'bluecoats' for their distinctive coloured jackets, are on hand to offer passengers help when at the airport. They can help you find your way and direct you to what you need. We also have information kiosks situated around the terminal. Find out more.

                    Lost property

                    Lost property found within the international terminal can be claimed from our lost property office. Find out more.

                      Luggage trolleys

                      Trolleys are free of charge and are available throughout the terminals before security.

                        Ground floor, first floor and after immigration

                        Post boxes are located throughout the terminal.

                          Medical services and first aid

                          For urgent medical attention or to use a first aid room dial 98777 on any airport phone (not the Spark telephones) in the terminals

                          • Full medical and healthcare services are available from The Airport Doctors at the Airport Shopping Centre, John Goulter Drive. Open 8am-6pm (Monday - Friday), 9am - 1pm (Saturday). Closed Sunday and public holidays. Phone +64 9 256-8655.

                          Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs) are throughout the international and domestic terminals. These ATMs accept VISA, MasterCard, Amex, Diners Club cards and all Plus cards.

                            Showers

                            Shower facilities are available for passengers free of charge in the following locations

                            International terminal

                            • International departures: after security, near adidas

                            Towels are available for purchase at Cape to Bluff and Around New Zealand, while toiletries are available to purchase at Relay

                            • International arrivals: outside the arrivals gate, near door 11.

                            Towels and toiletries are available to purchase at Relay, or Take Home Convenience, both situated on ground floor arrivals

                            Domestic terminal

                            • Before security: located in zone B, near door 4

                            Towels and toiletries are available to purchase at Relay

                            • After security: located near Hudsons

                            Towels and toiletries are available to purchase at Relay

                              Smoking areas

                              Smoking is permitted before security in designated areas of the forecourt at the international terminal. Departing and transit travellers can access the smoking lounge after security, on the second level of the international terminal.

                              Smoking is only permitted in designated areas of the forecourt at the domestic terminal.

                                  Phone-cards are sold at Relay on the ground and first floors at the international terminal and near the foodcourt at the domestic terminal.

                                    Chapel

                                    A non denominational chapel is provided as a quiet place for contemplation to all travellers. Use our airport maps to find the chapel.

                                    Muslim prayer mat

                                    The prayer mat is on the first floor, domestic terminal.
